governance
Since January 1, 2025, QuTech is an interfaculty research institute of TU Delft. QuTech operates under the Executive Board of TU Delft with the involvement of the faculties of Applied Sciences (AS) and Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). The General Director of QuTech is integrally responsible for steering the research & engineering, business development, and operations of the institute. The General Director is assisted by an Institute Secretary, comparable to the management model of the university faculties.
QuTech's research and engineering activities are organised along three divisions (Quantum Internet, Quantum Computing and Qubit Research), each following a coherent research and development strategy towards QuTech's mission. The divisions are steered by a Division Management Team consisting of the research lead and division coordinator. The organisation is supported by professional staff, both technical (hardware and software) and administrative (communication, finance, legal, and human resources).
QuTech Academy coordinates complementary educational efforts on quantum technology in an effort to educate, reach out to and engage students, industry, and society.
The Business Development team stimulates valorisation and ecosystem development.
Together we push our mission-driven approach and the pursuit of excellence in science and applied technology.
